When Good days of Desert National Park will Seen


Jaisalmer. Desert National Park hampered the development of 73 villages of Barmer - Jaisalmer Parliamentary constituency on name of development Desert National Park (DNP), which is still undeveloped from 1980 to till today.

Barmer- Jaisalmer Member of Parliament Col. Sonaram Choudhary said that DNP is one of the important national parks in Rajasthan. Sprawling over an area of 3162 square kilometers, the national park is one of the largest national parks in the country. The Desert National Park has an impressive collection of plant and animal fossils which are as old as 180 million years. From long time villagers are demanding to end this or to demark this land but conditions are still unchanged. State government is also in favor of demarcation of DNP. Finally wild life and environment ministry had recently formed High-power committee to submit the report.




Shalle Mohammad


Pokran Former Legislator Shalle Mohammad said that newly formed High-power committee from wild life and environment department decided for re-demarcation of DNP. DNP range consist 39 villages of Barmer and 34 of Jaisalmer. The unique landscape of the national park is one of the greatest attractions for tourists from all over the world. Almost 20 per cent of the park is constituted of sand dunes. The rest of the landmark comprises of fixed dunes, intermedial areas, salt lake bottoms and craggy rocks and population density of wild animal is nearly negligible. In-spite of this it was covering a huge piece of land.






Chotu Singh Bhati
Villagers still following ancient lifestyle, the present condition are this that there is no road facility available in DNP area for transportation from one village to another village by which villagers has to travel by camels said Jaisalmer Legislator Chotu Singh Bhati adding that canal water reached Jaisalmer for irrigation purpose but farmers of DNP are still adherent on rain water and due to low rainfall they are unable to do cultivation. 
 






Goverdhan Kalla
Jaisalmer Former Legislator Goverdhan Kalla said that from Nachana to Mohangarh to Sam route plan of Indra Gandhi canal is prepared but DNP area is fating the route plan and also hampering the work of canal. As per ONGC this area consist huge reserve of oil and gas. ONGC marked many sites in this area which is estimated to have oil and gas stock. He said in DNP area road construction work under Prime Minister Scheme is still under construction. According to information road construction works from Dhaneli to Myajlar, from Barsiyala to Khariya and from Sipla to Tejasi is still incomplete. 





Manohar Singh Adbala
District Council Jaisalmer Opposition Leader Manohar Singh Adbala said in this area 40 to 50 thousand of population reside but they are deprived from basic facilities. Due to strict rules there is not allowed to construct their house and they don't have any reliable livelihood. In DNP wild animal’s population is nearly negligible and for few wild animals thousands are deprived from development. This is pure un-justice for them.








Narayan Lal Meena
District Collector Jaisalmer Narayan Lal Meena said ‘I did not receive yet any kind of written and verbal order from the Center and State government in relation to Desert National Park field’.
