Balika Sambal Project (Girl Support Project) Craving for Support

Jaisalmer .Whether we call it old notions effect or the pressure of staying in joint families or the different set ideologies regarding girl and a boy child, but; the fact is that project “Chief Minister Balika Sambal Yojana” (CM girl save project) started in order to promote birth of girl child which is not standing on its basic objective in border line district Jaisalmer.

Social worker of Jaisalmer Ram Kanwar Deora said in district the situation is such that this project was started 6 years ago, even not a single application has reached to department and no one has got benefitted out of it. To promote the surgery/operation after birth of two girls and to support girls this project was started with correct perspective and but steps seems week.

Panchayat Samiti Sam Pradhaan, Laxmi Kanwar said that under the chief minister girl support plan, such couples who don’t have son and get their operation done after birth of one or two daughters, gets benefit under this project. Inspite of this, from the last six years, under this project no one has got benefited.
Principal Medical Officer Dr DD Khichi said to start this project main motto was to improve the thinking of people in terms of girl child birth and to stop the population growth which is happening in order to get a boy child in the family. We were assuming that this shall prove successful but this didn’t happen.

In this unique project, 10 -10 thousand Rs bond are provided on the name of the girl child which can be taken when the girl becomes 18 years old. But in the Jaisalmer district, this project is craving for support and help in its own said Former Jila Pramukh Renuka Bhati. 

Chief Medical and Health Officer, Jaisalmer, Dr Nenaram Nayak said that after the implementation of CM Balika Sambal plan, till date not a single couple has been benefited with this. However, from the department’s side there has not been any mistake in communication or publicity but the results are negative.
